Organisation: GroModel Care (GM Care)

Pay: £13 per hour during day shifts, £13 per hour for waking night shifts, £50 per sleep-in shift. GroModel Care Key Workers work as Workers and take full responsibility of filling their  own tax.

Job Summary / Job Purpose:

To provide key work support to the young people in our service that has been placed by Social Services.

We are looking for an energised and passionate Keyworker to join our service. The successful candidate will be providing a supportive motivational service to young people in the care of the local authorities, providing practical support as well as incorporating independence in line with the assessed needs of the clients.

You will be working across the London area with clients in the community and within accommodations provided to them by GroModel Care. The service works with people facing a number of challenges. Experience of working with people with a wide variety of needs and issues is essential to this role.

The role will involve supporting young people in semi-independent/shared accommodation to develop their independent skills, support with educational needs, looking for employment as well as a number of other support areas.

Generally, our working shifts are three days on, three days off but there is flexibility in regards to suitable days for staff. Staff members are required to sleep in the accommodation to ensure that service needs are being met. We are able to organise the sleep in shift days that are most fitting for you.

If you are motivated to help young people achieve independence then this role may be of interest to you. If you have at least one year experience working in the looked after children’s sector, or similar sector experience with the relevant age group (16+) and aren’t put off by doing paperwork then we would love to hear from you!

As a Keyworker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the children in your care. You will be responsible for recognising and responding to signs of abuse or neglect, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment, and promoting a culture of safeguarding. This includes completing required safeguarding training, reporting concerns or incidents promptly and accurately, and maintaining confidentiality. You will build supportive relationships with children, monitor their emotional and physical health, and work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to ensure the highest standards of care and protection are met.

 

Daily Responsibilities

  • Ensure required paperwork is completed and up to date – Daily log is completed and sent to admin@gmcarehub.co.uk
  • All staff are to adhere to the young persons working plan.
  • Staff to cook on designated working days.
  • Take young person to all activities off – site.
  • Go through English, Maths and Science with Young Person once a day. • Staff to ensure the young person is supervised at regular intervals. • Check on the young person throughout the night.
  • Maintain hygiene standards within the unit.
  • Share all pertinent information with colleagues and management. • Having oversight on the young person’s telephone/tablet calls/conversations • Ensuring the placement is kept clean and tidy.
  • Ensuring the placement is clean for shift handover.
  • Staff to ensure the young person does not leave the placement unsupervised. •
